Introduction:

There are opposing views on who is better in the workspace. Although some think that older employees are more beneficial to an organization, others support the idea that younger ones are better. In my view, as both older and younger employees have their respective roles in a company, their superiority should not be compared with each other.

Body 1:

There are valid reasons why elderly workers are suited better to a company. Obviously, they often possess more experience in a particular industry, and that is why, they can be trusted more than youth. They already know how to manage challenging situations and grow thanks to obstacles a certain organization might encounter. Additionally, elderly workers are much more immersed in some topics and more professional when compared to others, and thus, youth are unable to compete in knowledge and expertise. In other words, their skills, including risk management, stress tolerance, and mentoring aspiring young workers, are significantly more developed over long periods of time through practice and errors. Hence, it is claimed that hiring elderly employees is a more rational choice.

Body 2:

However, young staff also represent their qualities, which others might lack. Firstly, they are adaptive to various job environments, where there might be different dynamics. To be specific, adapting to a task that involves soft skills and then taking responsibility for fulfilling a task that demands hard skills is what makes young labor much stronger. Especially in the field of IT, for example, a front-end developer should be able to acquire and stack other skills on top of each other, such as a mobile application development, contributing to more long-term benefits to a business. Similarly, they are good at domains related to technology. Their ability to understand and work with new devices and modern tools generally exceeds that of older people. For instance, they may be capable of using artificial intelligence (AI) to do repetitive duties in their workflow, resulting in more productivity and time leverage. Moreover, energy is what sets younger workers apart from older ones. They are more driven and willing to overcome substantial problems on their way in order to fulfill their mission.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, older and younger laborers have their own strengths and functions in a specific entity. Therefore, I firmly believe that striking a balance between both of them in a team is a more reasonable option, rather than comparing them. By doing so, productivity and growth are maximized.
