Task 1 Table: Milk Production.
Task 1 Table: Milk Production.
The table below shows the production of milk (in litres) in four countries in 1990, 2000 and 2010.
The table compares four countries in terms of milk production in three years: 1990, 2000, and 2010. Overall, the Netherlands and Australia remained the major producers of milk, whereas milk production in Tanzania and Guatemala was considerably lower. Notably, Australia was the only country to experience a decline in milk production.
-
The Netherlands and Australia produced by far the largest amount of milk over the entire period. Starting at 11,262,000 liters in the Netherlands and 11,246,000 liters in Australia, both countries saw similar changes during the ensuing decade, with milk production levels declining negligibly to 11,155,000 and 11,105,000 liters, respectively. By 2010, however, these trends had diverged: the amount of milk produced by the Netherlands increased significantly to 11,466,000 liters, whereas a dramatic drop of approximately two million was recorded in Australiaʼs figure.
-
In stark contrast, milk production levels were substantially lower in Tanzania and Guatemala, with initial respective amounts of 87,000 and 26,000 liters. Throughout the period, Tanzaniaʼs milk yield nearly doubled to 155,000 liters, while the figure for Guatemala showed a more than threefold rise, eventually accounting for 84,000.
